How the Pattaya to Koh Chang transfer works
A Thai Go private transfer from Pattaya to Koh Chang covers about 280 km and takes 4.5–5.5 hours including the ferry crossing. The car boards the ferry and drives you straight to your hotel afterwards — no changing vehicles. The fare is locked at booking; the ferry is paid separately, ฿100 per person.
The drive to the pier
From Pattaya hotels to the Laem Ngop pier is about 280 km along Highway 344 and Route 3 through Rayong and Trat. The drive itself takes roughly 4 hours, the ferry not included.
The transfer fare is locked at booking and does not depend on the time of day, the season or the number of passengers. Road tolls are already included.
Crossing to the island
The car takes you to the Laem Ngop pier and boards the ferry with you. The ferry ticket is paid separately on the spot — ฿100 per person, it is not included in the transfer price. After the crossing the same car drives on to your hotel or address on the island.
The ferry takes about 45 minutes. There is no transfer and no dragging suitcases: you stay with the same car and the same driver the whole way.
Allow extra time for the ferry itself: it runs on a schedule, and in high season there can be a queue at the pier.
Why not a bus or a taxi on arrival
By bus from Pattaya you change several times: first to Trat, then a songthaew to the pier, then the ferry, then island transport. That is 7–9 hours and three changes with luggage.
Taxis at the pier charge separately for the island leg, and you negotiate the price on the spot — after the crossing, with your luggage in hand.
