Main exits to the beaches — Highway 402 south and Beach Road west. To Patong via the Patak mountain pass — 35 km, normally 50–60 min, up to 1.5 hours in rain and traffic.
In the rainy season (May — October) the mountain section to Patong and Kata gets slippery — drivers take it slower. Add 20–30 min to the calculated arrival.
