U-Tapao (UTP) is a small joint civilian-military airport in Rayong province, 40–50 km from Pattaya hotels. It's the closest airport to the resort, which is why most travellers on charter and regional flights land here rather than at Suvarnabhumi (120 km) or Don Mueang (150 km).

The drive to central Pattaya takes roughly 50 minutes under normal traffic and can stretch to 60–70 minutes in high season or during the evening beach-run. The route passes through Chonburi past the Nong Nooch Tropical Garden and Cartoon Network Amazone water park — handy landmarks to spot if you're travelling with kids.

U-Tapao is a compact terminal, so navigation is straightforward: passport control, baggage belt, and the exit to the general arrivals area all run along a single path. The driver waits right there with a sign showing the name from your booking — no separate counter-hunting.

Flight status is tracked via the number you enter at booking. If the flight is delayed, pickup shifts automatically — the first 2 hours after landing are included in the fare. This matters especially for charters, which shift more often than scheduled flights.

Freelance drivers in the parking offer a "cheaper" deal, but the price isn't fixed, there's no meter, no passenger insurance, and the urge to close the job quickly pushes them to overtake on the mountain stretches of the highway. Saving ฿200–300 isn't worth that kind of ride with luggage.
