How the Suvarnabhumi Airport (Bangkok) to Koh Chang transfer works

The drive to the pier

From Suvarnabhumi arrivals to the Laem Ngop pier is about 330 km via Motorway 7 and Route 3 through Chonburi, Rayong and Trat. The drive to the pier takes about 4.5 hours.

The transfer fare is locked at booking and does not depend on the time of day, the season or the number of passengers. Road tolls are already included.

Crossing to the island

The car takes you to the Laem Ngop pier and boards the ferry with you. The ferry ticket is paid separately on the spot — ฿100 per person, it is not included in the transfer price. After the crossing the same car drives on to your hotel or address on the island.

The ferry takes about 45 minutes. There is no transfer and no dragging suitcases: you stay with the same car and the same driver the whole way.

Allow extra time for the ferry itself: it runs on a schedule, and in high season there can be a queue at the pier.

Why not a bus or a taxi on arrival

The driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name sign, and the first 2 hours after landing are included. The DIY version is a bus to Trat plus changes: 8–10 hours straight after a flight.
